1. Who We Are
Summertime is an automation platform that helps you connect your apps and automate repetitive tasks — without writing code. When we say "Summertime," "we," "us," or "our," we mean the company behind the Service. When we say "you" or "your," we mean you, the person or entity using Summertime.
2. What Information We Collect
We collect information in a few ways:
Information You Give Us
Account information: Your name, email address, and password when you sign up.
Billing information: Payment details (credit card number, billing address) when you subscribe to a paid plan. We use third-party payment processors — we never store your full credit card number on our servers.
Profile information: Any additional details you choose to add to your account, like a company name or profile photo.
Communications: Messages you send us via email, support tickets, or feedback forms.
Information We Collect Automatically
Usage data: How you interact with the Service — features you use, automations you create, pages you visit, buttons you click, and timestamps of your activity.
Device and browser information: Your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, and screen resolution.
Log data: Server logs that record requests made to our Service, including URLs, response times, and error codes.
Cookies and similar technologies: We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how you use the Service. See Section 8 for more details.
Information from Third-Party Services
When you connect third-party apps to Summertime (like your email provider, CRM, or project management tool), we access and process the data necessary to run your automations. This may include:
Authentication tokens and API credentials for connected services.
Data that flows through your automations (e.g., emails, contacts, form submissions, spreadsheet rows — whatever your automation touches).
We only access the data needed to make your automations work. We don't go poking around your connected accounts beyond what's required.
Information from the Marketplace
If you participate in the Summertime marketplace as a creator or buyer, we may collect additional information such as transaction history, template details, and seller profile information.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
Run the Service: Create and manage your account, execute your automations, connect your apps, and provide customer support.
Process payments: Charge you for paid plans and manage billing.
Improve the Service: Analyze usage patterns to fix bugs, improve features, and build new ones.
Communicate with you: Send transactional emails (receipts, account updates, security alerts), and — only if you opt in — product updates and tips.
Keep things safe: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats.
Comply with the law: Meet legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not use your data to:
Sell it to advertisers or data brokers. Ever.
Train AI models on your personal content or automation data without your explicit consent.
Profile you for targeted advertising by third parties.
4. How We Share Your Information
We don't sell your data. Here's who we may share it with and why:
Service Providers
We work with trusted third-party companies that help us operate the Service, including:
Cloud hosting (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) — to store and process your data.
Payment processors (e.g., Stripe) — to handle billing.
Analytics providers — to help us understand usage and improve the Service.
Email providers — to send transactional and (opt-in) marketing emails.
Customer support tools — to manage support tickets.
These providers only access your data as needed to perform their services and are contractually obligated to protect it.
Third-Party Integrations
When you connect apps through Summertime, data flows between those apps as part of your automations. That data is governed by the respective privacy policies of those third-party services. We encourage you to review them.
Marketplace Participants
If you buy or sell templates in the Summertime marketplace, limited information (such as your display name and transaction details) may be visible to other marketplace participants.
Legal and Safety Reasons
We may disclose your information if we believe in good faith that it's necessary to:
Comply with applicable law, regulation, or legal process.
Protect the rights, property, or safety of Summertime, our users, or the public.
Detect, prevent, or address fraud, security issues, or technical problems.
Enforce our Terms of Service.
Business Transfers
If Summertime is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We'll notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
5. Data Security
We take security seriously. Here's how we protect your data:
Encryption in transit: All data transmitted between you and Summertime is encrypted using TLS (HTTPS).
Encryption at rest: Your data is encrypted when stored on our servers.
Access controls: We limit employee access to user data on a need-to-know basis, with role-based permissions and audit logging.
Infrastructure security: We use reputable cloud providers with SOC 2 compliance and implement firewalls, intrusion detection, and regular security assessments.
Credential handling: Third-party API tokens and credentials are stored encrypted and are never exposed in logs or to other users.
No system is 100% secure. While we work hard to protect your data, we can't guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your information, we'll notify you promptly in accordance with applicable law.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights regarding your personal data. These may include:
Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data.
Portability: Request a machine-readable copy of your data.
Objection: Object to certain processing of your data.
Restriction: Request that we limit how we use your data.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
7. Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Specifically:
Account data: Retained while your account is active. After you delete your account, we'll remove your personal data within 30 days, unless we're legally required to retain it.
Automation data: Data that flows through your automations is processed in real-time and retained according to your plan's data retention settings. We don't keep automation execution data indefinitely.
Billing data: Retained as required for tax, accounting, and legal compliance (typically 7 years).
Log data: Retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging purposes.
You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at privacy@trysummertime.com.
8. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
Essential cookies: Required for the Service to function (authentication, security, load balancing). You can't opt out of these.
Analytics cookies: Help us understand how you use the Service so we can improve it. These can be disabled through your browser settings or our cookie preferences.
Preference cookies: Remember your settings and preferences (like language or theme).
We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Service.
Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. We currently honor DNT signals by disabling non-essential analytics tracking for users with DNT enabled.
8. International Data Transfers
Summertime is based in the United States. If you're using the Service from outside the U.S., your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.
We take steps to ensure that international transfers of your data are protected by appropriate safeguards, including standard contractual clauses and data processing agreements, in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
Children's Privacy
Summertime is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we've collected data from a child under 18, we'll delete it promptly. The bottom line
We built Summertime to make your life easier, not more complicated. That includes privacy. We collect what we need, protect what we have, and respect your rights.
If something in this policy doesn't make sense, ask us. We'd rather have a conversation than have you confused.
